New 2015 Hyundai Genesis to Preserve Sub-$40,000 Sticker Price

There's a lot to like about Hyundai's second generation Genesis sedan that just made its world premiere at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the good news continues with the pricing, at least for the base model.

Despite the fact that Hyundai is keeping pricing a secret for now, the carmaker said that the new model will retain an entry price of under $40,000 (€29,200) when it goes on sale in the States this spring, according to an Autonews report. The current model starts at $35,200, which is more than $2,000 less than the smaller BMW 328i sedan.

Hyundai's second effort in the mid-size luxury segment introduces a new and more eye-catching, or differentiated, if you prefer, exterior design, more simplified controls and higher quality materials inside, new tech features like smartphone apps that allow Google Glass integration, and for the first time, the option of all-wheel drive for the 311hp 3.8-liter V6 engine. A 420hp 5.0-liter V8 that sends power to the rear axle will also be on offer.
