New Lamborghini Huracan Blows its Top Roadster Style in Photoshop

This is what the topless version of the all-new Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 could look like. Seen here in the interpretation of Hungarian designer X-Tomi, it closely follows the example set by the drop-top Aventador – it appears to have a very similar roof system with a small aperture too…

I personally think that the Huracan is not as pretty as the Gallardo was back in the day, though, to be fair, not even that looked its best with a hard top, and to this day, the Gallardo Spider is still the nicer-looking of the two. Will it be the case here too?

First indications (i.e. this rendering) would suggest an affirmative answer would be in order, but we’ll have to wait and see what the actual one looks like before casting strong opinions.

Whatever the case, it’s still not a bad looker overall, especially from the back, where its Sesto Elemento inspiration is oh so clear, so I suspect that a coat of matte black paint, red accents and a spoiler on the back won’t detract from its aesthetic merits at all…

DMC Dreams Up a Digital Tune for New Lamborghini Huracan

Only the announcement of a new Lamborghini model sends shivers up the spine of specialized supercar tuners like DMC, which has rushed in to present a digital take of what the Huracan could look like with a carbon fiber aero package.

True, it’s only a render for now and DMC did not share any words about the project, but judging from the company's previous works, we gather that it shouldn't be too far away from what it will release next year when the Lamborghini Huracan begins to arrive in showrooms across the world.

The kit displayed here comprises a roof scoop, a protruding lip spoiler, side skirts, and a traditional (think Countach) rear wing, and even though we don't see the rear end, a diffuser is very likely included in DMC's vision of a tuned Huracan.

The V10-powered Lamborghini Gallardo replacement is here and it’s called the Huracan, named after the fighting bull Huracán of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed from the 19th century.

The name is better than a-vent-a-door, but as far as the looks go, the larger car pulls off the visual trick better, I think. Now, after countless rendered shots posted, we have the real car for you too, courtesy of Autobild of Germany, the ones we also have to thank for the engine sound sample video too.

This official, but low res set of photos, shows a silver car, with part-beige leather interior and a refreshingly simple steering wheel with few buttons and two hefty fixed paddles behind it – the dashboard is miles better than the ageing mess that was the Gallardo’s, from these first shots.

On the outside, the silver seems to suit it really well and for some reason brings out more of the Huracan’s Sesto Elemento inspiration – the details are clearer and crisper in these photos too…

Watch the Wild Lamborghini Huracan Do Donuts in Official Video

We can now confirm that Lamborghini’s Hexagon Project teaser videos were about the all-new Huracán (as if you didn't know…) as the fourth video of the series features the Gallardo replacement during a “hooning” session.

In the film, the two men that were featured in the previous three videos finally get to the room where Lamborghini keeps the Huracán and take it for a spin around the factory (just skip to the 2-minute mark if you're impatient).

This allows us to hear the glorious sound of the V10 engine and to witness Huracán’s ability to do donuts – it looks like the car’s four-wheel-drive system doesn’t mind this type of behavior at all.

The Lamborghini Huracán is a car that sounds and looks spectacular, and frankly, that’s all Lamborghini fans want.

Lamborghini Huracan Testing on the Snow Next to Aventador

Yes, yes, we know that the Lamborghini Huracan made an official appearance today, but that doesn't mean engineers are done – not even with the base LP610-4, let alone the rest of the models that will follow like the Roadster and the various editions being planned.

We can't say with certainty whether our spies photographed the entry-level Huracan LP610-4 (it does appear to be one, though) or a different version this week on the snow-covered roads of Northern Sweden.

Lamborghini's team had also brought along a blacked-out Aventador to the testing grounds.

The Huracan will be displayed in private preview events for qualified prospect buyers (read very deep pockets) starting from January, before first deliveries commence in spring of the same year.

Official: Lamborghini Huracán with 602HP V10 Does 0-100 KM/H in 3.2 Seconds, 325 KM/H

Following leaked photos and information, Lamborghini decided to lift the veil off its newest supercar, the Huracán LP610-4. While the world public debut of the car will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014, the Gallardo successor will be displayed at more than 130 private preview events in more than 60 cities throughout the world.

The Huracán is an all-new car that keeps Lamborghini’s traditional wedge shape and sharp creases. It somehow reminds of the Aventador, but is original enough not to be mistaken for its larger sibling. The rear end is the more dramatic part of the car, but in my eyes, the Huracán looks good from every angle.

The interior features a 12.3-inch full-color TFT instrument panel that delivers all car information to the driver, from rev counter to navigation maps and infotainment functions, and can be configured by the driver in different setups. Nappa leather and Alcantara adorn the seats, door panels and dashboard, with Lamborghini saying the cabin is a showcase of its “superb craftsmanship.”

Obviously, the most interesting part of the Huracán is the powertrain, which consists of a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 602hp (610PS – hence the name LP610) at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm. The powerplant features the new “Iniezione Diretta Stratificata” (IDS), a technology that combines direct and indirect gasoline injections, resulting in more power and torque with lower fuel consumption and emissions compared with the Gallardo V10 engine.

The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” (LDF) and sends power to all four wheels via a fully electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. The driver can select three driving modes from a switch located on the steering wheel: Strada, Sport and Corsa.

The Huracán sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.9 seconds. Top speed is over 325 km/h (202 mph), while average fuel economy is 12.5 l/100 km (18.8 mpg US), thanks to the Stop & Start technology. The engine is Euro 6-compliant and emits 290 g of CO2 per kilometer.

The chassis features a hybrid lightweight design, combining carbon fiber with aluminum. The Huracán has a dry weight of 1,422 kg (3,135 lbs), enabling a power-to-weight ratio of just 2.33 kg/hp. Lamborghini says the hybrid chassis also guarantees “race-car precision with outstanding stiffness.”

Lamborghini Huracán is fitted as standard with carbon-ceramic brakes, while the “Lamborghini Dynamic Steering” variable steering ratio system and magneto-rheologic suspension damper control are available as options. Deliveries to the first customers are planned for spring 2014.
